Nestled in the rolling hills of east central
Alabama, is the place I affectionately call home. The loveliest
village on the plains. Auburn. God's country. This is home to some
of the greatest football to be found anywhere, a world class
university, and some of the finest people you would ever want to
meet. That's why I choose to live and practice law in Lee County,
Alabama. As a member of both the Florida and Alabama Bars I hope to
offer the people and businesses here top quality legal services and
a friendly working relationship.
At
some point, almost everyone needs a lawyer...
Unfortunately, most people
are intimidated at the thought and the process of seeing one. That
need not be the case. It should be a tolerable situation and one
that proves satisfying. We strive
to provide a comfortable atmosphere so that you can relax
and fully explain your concerns.
Seeing an attorney should be relaxing. It can
be a relief to find someone who shares your system of beliefs, wants
to do things the right way, and, like yourself, wants to do things
in a morally and ethically correct manner. Unfortunately, the world
has become very complicated and overly sophisticated these days.
For example, just take a look at the Internal Revenue Code. It's
thicker than three King James Bibles (even without its regulations).
Trust
is the operative word when seeking an attorney. Because matters
are now so complicated, the normal person doesn't know where to
turn to take care of the ordinary legal matters they face.
It has long been my personal and professional
philosophy to keep a client's legal business confidential, simple
and easy to understand. "Confidentiality"
is a maxim of the utmost importance in dealing with a client's business
and personal affairs. Lawyers get removed from practice for violating
this principle. "Simplicity" is another important factor
in dealing with a client's business. The client is not well-served
if they have more problems when leaving the lawyer's office than
before they came in. We try our best to keep your matters as smooth
and streamlined as possible.
Unfortunately, sometimes this is not possible due to exigent circumstances.
"Easy to Understand"
is the idea that the client should be able to remember what it is
that the lawyer did and why he did it three months after their last
visit to the lawyer's office.
I have sought to limit my practice
to three main areas of focus. Those are Real
Estate, Estate Planning, and Business Entities. All of these
areas are necessarily and closely tied together. It is nearly impossible
to practice one without practicing in all three. I practice in these
areas because they interest me the most.
Through limiting my
practice to these areas, I hope to help the ordinary person when
these needs arise in their life. All of my continuing education has
been focused in this realm. I was admitted to the Alabama Bar in
1983 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996. From 1983 to 1985,
I was with the U.S. Justice Department where I received extensive
litigation education. After that, I went into private practice
hoping to utilize my litigation experience with these areas of
business law. It is my purpose to continue building my practice
with the intention of trying to help my clients with all of their
legal needs.
